Sebastian's Action Trust CEO Hazel Bedford has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to The Sporting Bears Motor Club

Sebastian's Action Trust CEO Hazel Bedford has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to The Sporting Bears Motor Club for their dedicated efforts in raising £7,095 at this year's American SpeedFest held at Brands Hatch.

This amazing amount was raised by the volunteers from Sporting Bears Motor Club who provide their time and expenses free of charge to provide their famous passenger ride experience Dream Rides.

The support from the Sporting Bears plays a crucial role in helping the trust fulfil its mission of supporting families of life-limited and disadvantaged children. With a focus on providing respite, support, and memorable experiences, Sebastian's Action Trust has become a lifeline for countless families facing challenging circumstances.

Sebastian's Vision and the Birth of The Bluebells:

Founded in memory of Sebastian Gates, a young boy who tragically passed due to a rare form of cancer in 2003, Sebastian's Action Trust strives to fulfil Sebastian's last wish: to create a holiday home for families like his own.

Thus, 'The Bluebells' came into existence as the UK's first purpose-built family respite holiday home exclusively designed for disadvantaged children and their families. The trust raises funds, builds, and manages this beautiful facility, providing families with a tranquil retreat where they can make precious memories together.

Creating Lasting Memories at The Bluebells:

The Bluebells boasts incredible facilities, including a pitch and putt course and a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy swimming pool, offering families the opportunity to relax and enjoy quality time away from prying eyes. Families have expressed their gratitude for this haven.

One parent said, "Sebastian's Action Trust is the only place our little boy can be himself, so I know that I can attend without being anxious or feeling isolated."

The respite breaks at The Bluebells create treasured memories that families will cherish for a lifetime.

Expanding Support through 'The Woodlands':

In addition to The Bluebells, Sebastian's Action Trust has expanded its reach with a second facility called 'The Woodlands' in Crowthorne. This beautifully refurbished house serves as a hub for the trust's Family Services Team to provide support, outreach services, and advocacy. The Woodlands acts as an accessible, family-friendly space where families can access specialist information, advice, and support tailored to their needs. It also serves as a meeting point for families going through similar circumstances, reducing social isolation and improving mental wellbeing.

A Lifeline for Families Across the UK:

While primarily focused on supporting families in Berkshire, Surrey, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire, Sebastian's Action Trust extends its services to families from various counties across the UK. The trust's dedicated outreach workers are always there to listen, offer a shoulder to cry on, assist with overwhelming chores, and organise social opportunities.

Families greatly appreciate the unwavering support, with one parent expressing, "I honestly don't know where I would have been without Sebastian's Action Trust."

Enriching Lives and Creating Community:

Sebastian's Action Trust goes beyond providing physical support by organizing various activities for families. From sleepovers for siblings and coffee mornings to Dad’s Day outs and gardening clubs, these events enable families to socialize in a safe and friendly environment. The trust also hosts special occasions such as Easter egg hunts, Christmas parties, and the unique "Christmas in July" event, ensuring that children can experience the joy of the holiday season even if they are unable to celebrate in December. These events are made possible through the generous support of community groups and individuals.

Supporting Families in Every Way Possible:

Sebastian's Action Trust strives to improve the mental, physical, and emotional health of families through wellbeing therapy, bereavement support, assistance in accessing welfare and financial support, and specialised support for siblings. The trust also offers guidance and assistance to grandparents who often feel helpless in such situations. By being family-led and adapting to the ever-changing needs of each family, Sebastian's Action Trust is committed to providing ongoing support for as long as it is needed.

The Sporting Bears Motor Club's decision to raise funds for Sebastian's Action Trust at American Speedfest is a testament to their commitment to making a difference in the lives of disadvantaged children and their families.

Through the trust's remarkable facilities like The Bluebells and The Woodlands, along with their unwavering support services, countless families have found solace, support, and the opportunity to create cherished memories together.

With ongoing support from The Sporting Bears Motor Club, Sebastian's Action Trust can continue its vital work and honour Sebastian's legacy of compassion and hope.
